Is this not a great picture?
Baby Cecil White’s photograph would have been take sometime during 1917. Notice at the bottom of the page, her sister Violet’s photograph is missing. I wonder if Grandmom passed that photograph on to Violet in their adult years. I prefer thinking that than the photograph was just lost.
This next page holds one of my favorite photographs: Stella Holyfield White with her three oldest children Cecil, Violet (sitting) and Jasper. I have shared this photograph previously here. The bottom photograph is of Cecile’s cousin Jazebel [Jazabel] Fowler Ball. Jazabel was the daughter of Blanche Holyfield and Charles Fowler and first cousin to Cecile. Blanche Holyfield was Stella White’s sister.
Callahan first cousins Ernestine and Ben are in the top photograph on the left. Ernestine and Ben were the children of Lucy Day Holyfield and Benjamin Callahan. Lucy was another sister of Stella White.
Papa (James Abe White) and two of his friends (unidentified) are featured in the second photograph on top.
Viola and Mox Doddie are the young people in the bottom photo. I am not sure if they were friends or relatives of Cecile’s.
I hope you enjoyed this installment of Cecile’s (Grandmom’s) scrapbook. I’ve been through her scrapbook before, but as I share it with you, I get to know my grandmother a little bit better. I hope you do, too.
