The Boys of Halifax County Part 2

Here is the second installment of  The Boys of Halifax County .  Since I first posted about The Boys of Halifax County, I have learned that this scrapbook belonged to my Aunt Elma Talbott Solomon.  (Aunt Elma was my grandfather’s sister.)  Elma lived in South Boston, VA. Her husband Lonnie Solomon served in the US Navy during the second World War.

You will notice on some of the pages, Elma hand wrote “Dead” by some of the photographs.  It is much more sobering to see my aunt’s personal notes.  Perhaps these are the young men that she knew personally.

Surnames included on the page below include: Watts, Owen, Walker, Irby, Lowery and Keatts.

This page’s surnames  include the Gordon brothers, Satterfield, Murray and Fallen.

Surnames below include: Oaks, Penick, Jones, and Henderson.
